The Kano State Police Command has read the riot act to some riders of tricycles popularly called ‘’Adaidaita Sahu’’ on highways and roads in the State causing unnecessary and avoidable accidents and other related inconveniences.
The Command said henceforth serious action would be taken on riders carrying passengers on either side of the rider.
A statement issued by the command spokesman DSP Abdullahi Haruna on Tuesday that Riders must have authentic tricycle registration plate numbers and KAROTA number affix appropriately on the tricycle.
It said any person or persons seen carrying passengers on his side or riding without due identification marks would be arrested and prosecuted in court.
The statement noted that this is aimed at safeguarding the lives and properties of the good citizens of Kano State.
‘’Members of the public are advised to shun any tricyclist overloading passengers or lacks identification marks in order to guarantee their safety,’’ said the statement.
