Nigerian politics as goes by its coined definition is not only a game of numbers where the majority emerges triumphant.

A game of permanent interest, where either longtime friend or rivalry is immaterial, wherein loyalty and sacrifices were not possibly reciprocal.

Sometimes, it is a game of unrequited love – whom you love doesn’t love you back, but instead, it goes to someone else.

A game that has a thriving preference for impostors, shameless and those who are habitually effrontery.

A game of where the diehard bared hands that dug the trenches, wherein the foundation of victory was laid upon, ended up as political foes or disappointed.

Some of the unseen faces at the party’s farming season were now at the forefront of gate-crashing at the bumper harvests.

The aforementioned references are directly suited to the newly converted APC member, Femi Fani Kayode.

The political gadfly who takes delight in disturbing the sleepy consciousness of the ruling party.

A greedy political bee, who goes to every blossomed flower uninvited, with a sole purpose – to suck the juicy nectar.

The decamped, ex-aviation minister, FFK into the ruling party taught many lessons, but only to the discerning minds.

This coincided with the age-long Hausa proverb which says “Da Marar kunya Akan ci tuwon biki” literally means “Only the shameless are serves the best dishes during merriment”

The man who cursed, abused and mocked the President with the filthy, unspeakable and unprintable names, just under the facade of opposition,  was accorded a warm reception at Aso Rock villa by the President.

While some of the qualified, who worked and fought hard in seeing the present government, got to where it is now, were for long, deep under the dustbin of irrelevancy.

Nevertheless, many things in political life usually come paradoxically.

As like FFK, a clown who was donned with a Crown, the pompous who have his hand shaken up with a presidential glove as a mark of honour.

This has even gone to the extent of the flamboyant minister, Sheikh Isa Ali Pantami organizing a befitting reception in honour of him – the bare-faced, who lacks modesty in his utterances.

The aforementioned instances bear the indisputable fact that the shamelessly bold, the political fair-weather friends are more likely to be pampered as soon as they migrate to where the national cake is, which FFK and Co are mostly the typical examples.

While the adherents, blind loyalists and subservient followers were overwhelmed under the illusion of unattainable, imaginary hopes.

Nigerian brand of politics is not only the game of numbers or where the permanent interest is flourishing, is also a game of unrequited love.
