Resident Doctors Suspend Planned Nationwide Strike

The National Association of Resident Doctors (NARD) has shelved their planned strike, giving the Federal Government one month to meet their demands.

Solacebase recall that the resident Doctors had warned that the 21-day ultimatum given to the Federal Government to address their concerns elapsed on Thursday, May 31, adding that they cannot guarantee harmony in the sector should government fail to look into their matter.

This message was made public by the association’s spokesperson in Kaduna State,  Dr. Ugochukwu Eze on Saturday

The doctors were demanding the release of some of their members sacked by the University of Jos Teaching Hospital, including asking the Federal Government to meet its agreement with doctors.

The doctors have now shelved the planned strike, giving federal government more time to meet their demands.
