Riot: Ganduje pardons indicted students of Dawakin Tofa Science College

Kano State Governor, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has granted pardon to students indicted in the riot that took place at Dawakin Tofa Science College.

The governor also directed the Ministry of Education to immediately recall back to the school, the SS3 students amongst them that are to write WAEC Examinations.

This was contained in a statement issued by the Permanent Secretary Ministry of Education, Lauratu Ado Diso on Wednesday and sent to Solacebase.

According to the statement, the decision was taken on Wednesday, 12th August, following an executive Memo presented to the Governor by the Commissioner of Education, Mal. Muhammad Sanusi S. Kiru shortly before the commencement of the weekly State Executive Council’s meeting.

‘’The Governor, however, warned the students to be law-abiding and ensure that such an unfortunate incidence is not repeated under whatever circumstance,’’ said the statement.

The statement said in view of this development, parents of SS3 Students from the College who registered for the forthcoming WAEC Examinations are advised to return their wards to the College with immediate effect.
