The late Sarkin Fadar Kano Sule Gaya who died on Thursday evening has been buried.
The funeral prayers of the former minister in the first republic was led on Friday morning by the Emir of Kano Muhammad Sanusi II at about 9.000am in front of the emir’s palace.
The remains of Alhaji Sule Gaya was laid to rest at Tarauni Cemetery at Tarauni local government area of Kano state on Friday morning.
Among those at the funeral prayers session were former Kano state governor Malam Ibrahim Shekarau, Kano state Head of Service Alhaji Muhammad Auwal Na’iya, among others.
Aged 107, the deceased left behind many children, grandchildren and great grandchildren amongst whom is Binta Sulaiman of Mass Communications Department , Faculty of Communication, Bayero University Kano.
Alhaji Sule Gaya was a member of the Northern Region’s legislature and once served as the parliamentary secretary in the regional ministry of Lands and Survey during the First Republic.
