SEDSAC urges CBN to make new naira notes available as it celebrates sixth anniversary

As SEDSAC celebrates its 6th year anniversary (2017~2023), the nongovernmental organization has enjoined Nigerians to embrace peace and obey constituted authorities in the journey to a virile nation, more so in this trying period of economic hardship and general insecurity across the country.

This was contained in a statement issued in Kano by its Executive Director, Umar Hamisu Kofar Naisa and forwarded to SOLACEBASE on Monday.

The statement said as the 2023 general elections approaches no one should conspire to take advantage of the current social and economic turmoil as manifested by fuel scarcity, the new naira swap etc. to instigate violence in the land.

Accordingly, the people should immediately report any suspicious character or movement to security agencies in line with the civic responsibilities of the citizens.

It said the Federal Government through the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, should regulate the country’s monetary policies that ensure the availability of the new currency notes and ease the anxiety on the cash withdrawal limit in order to stimulate the economy. Similarly, SEDSAC wishes to call on the FG to take all possible measures to end oil scarcity that led to unnecessary hardship.

SEDSAC joins all well- meaning citizens to call on eligible Nigerian voters to prepare for the forthcoming elections to elect credible persons into political offices in order to salvage the country from collapse.
