Service Delivery: KEDCO Begins Realignment In Kano Franchise Areas

Kano Electricity Distribution Company (KEDCO) says it has commenced feeder realignment across its franchise areas as part of efforts to ensure efficiency and effectiveness in power distribution in Kano, Jigawa and Katsina states.

The management of the company stated that the exercise which begun on Wednesday would continue until other feeders across the franchise areas were reached as part of its reforms to give maximum satisfaction to all classes of KEDCO’s customers.

A statement issued on Wednesday by Head, Corporate Communications, KEDCO Ibrahim Sani Shawai and sent to Solacebase, said the commissioning of feeder realignment at Gongoni injection substation as well as the PRP injection substation on Airport road by KEDCO Managing Director, Alhaji Jamil Isyaku Gwamna represented by the Chief Operating Officer, Dr VijayKumar Senewane is the first phase of the entire exercise.

‘’The essence of this exercise is to separate the industrial customers from the residential customers and the rationale behind the project is to enhance the safety of staff and other stakeholders while carrying out their duties as well as to help boost revenue collection, ‘’the statement said.

”Also other feeder realignments are ongoing and we will also update everyone in that regard as soon as the modalities are complete for commissioning.’’

The statement said Jamil Isyaku Gwamna, KEDCO MD said it was imperative to continue to improve on existing reforms.

According to him, ” We are doing all these to ensure that we are able to protect our staff while also satisfying customers. This is one of the reforms that have been lined up and we will see more improvements in revenue collection and capacities to ensure the safety of everyone as well as serve our customers in as effectively as possible.”

”This will give us an opportunity to ensure effective power distribution to our customers while minimizing any risk associated with staff on duty or other stakeholders in one way or the other.

He urged all staff to continue to be innovative in their respective duties to ensure “that we come out strong and better in 2020 while serving our customers to guarantee their satisfaction to the maximum.”

He also called on customers to continue to support KEDCO by protecting the company’s installation as well as ensuring prompt payment of bills.
