Sha’aban Sharada remains our Kano governorship candidate-ADP insists

The Action Democratic Party (ADP) has said Sha’aban Ibrahim Sharada remain its Kano State Governorship Candidate in the forthcoming 2023 general elections, with the voluntary withdrawal of Nasiru Hassan Koguna who was the initial flag-bearer of the party.

Solacebase reports that this is coming with media reports of a letter written by lawyers to Nasir Hassan Koguna, stating that their client (Nasiru Hassan Koguna) is still the candidate of ADP in Kano.

The party confirmed the development in a statement signed by its Kano Chairman, Rabiu Ahmad Bako, and sent to Solacebase, on Saturday.

The statement is titled ,’’Circulation Of A Letter With The Caption :’’Notice Of Non-Withdrawal Of Candidacy To Contest For The 2023 Election In Kano State Under The Platform Of Action Democratic Party (ADP).”

The statement reads,’’ Our attention has been drawn to a letter being circulated on social media platforms with the above subject matter being ascribed to Nasiru Hassan Koguna through Bashir, Nasiru and Co, Barristers and Solicitors, signed by one Prof. Nasiru A. Aliyu, dated 22^nd August2022.’’

‘’The party hereby sets the record straight that through a unanimous understanding , Nasiru Hassan Koguna voluntarily withdrew his candidature by completing INEC form EC 118 due to the emergence of a better and willing candidate, Hon. Sha’aban Ibrahim Sharada. Mr. Koguna avowed the aforementioned fact in the sworn affidavit that he signed and the letter of voluntary withdrawal that he addressed to the party’s national chairman and the party has copies of the said documents in its records.’’

‘’Therefore, the party unequivocally submits that Hon. Sha’aban Ibrahim Sharada is its authentic gubernatorial candidate in Kano State , having fulfilled all the provisions of the party constitution and guidelines which includes purchase of expression of interest and nomination forms and all necessary dues.’’

‘’The party calls on all its teeming supporters and well-wishers to remain firm and resolute as victory is ours, Insha Allah.’’
