BREAKING: Terrorists abduct over 100 displaced women in Borno 

No fewer than 113 Internally Displaced Women have been abducted by militants in an IDP’s camp in Gamboru Ngala town, Borno State, BBC report. 

While the abduction reportedly happened on Sunday, it just made it to the press on Thursday due to lack of telecommunication infrastructure in the remote community.

The abducted individuals were kidnapped when they went to get firewood.

“It was on Sunday that we got information that over 200 displaced people went to get firewood but unfortunately Boko Haram kidnapped them, allowing only the very young and very old to return,” the source was quoted as saying.

The incident was confirmed by Umar Mohammed, the chairman of the Local Government Area where the town is situated. While no terrorist organisation has claimed responsibility for the abduction, Shehu Mada, anti-jihadist militia leader in the area, blamed the incident on Boko Haram.
