Terrorists kill one of seven kidnapped victims in Abuja 

One of seven persons abducted from Kuduru community in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, on Dec. 28, 2023, has been killed. 

The terrorists have also threatened to kill more if a ransom is not promptly paid.

The abducted seven persons, including a pregnant woman live near Bwari area council in Abuja. 

The victim, Olayinka Ogunyemi, was reportedly killed on Friday after members of the families failed to pay the N290 million demanded.

A community source told our reporter that the bandits called to break the news of the execution of Ogunyemi.

The source said the bandits have threatened to kill the remaining captives, including one and half year-old boy, two siblings, the pregnant woman, and two men, if N230 million is not made available as ransom. 

“They called us yesterday saying that they have killed engineer Olayinka Ogunyemi. They told us that they will execute the rest if we don’t bring N230 million,” the source said.

“We have already paid N23 million and sent food and other items they demanded but none of our people have been released. We are scared and helpless now that they will not murder the pregnant woman and her child, the two siblings, and the two men.

“We are appealing to the federal government, the police, and the army to step up efforts to rescue our people because their abductors said Nigeria has offended them and they would retaliate.”

The names of those being held as Godwin Rachel Adeoye, Godwin Dominic, Austin Buremo, Hassan Usman, Hassan faosiya and Bako Azeez.
