This academic qualification, popularly known as “Degree Dan Kwatano” is a big disaster amongst our youths in recent years. The certificates usually awarded expressly over a very short period of time is a circumvention of the usual 4/5 year courses in just about 1 to 2 years.
The awarding institutions are generally not internationally accredited/recognized. Recipients of such certificates feel so happy but at the end of the day highly disappointed. They are more often than not rejected, downgraded, embarrassed and expelled from jobs, academics and further studies.
Their life ambitions are dashed after years of high utopian expectations.

We as elders should pity the victims of these quack/mushroom institutions.
As custodians of our upcoming generations, we should tell our youths the truth no matter how bitter it may be.
The Federal, states and other education stakeholders should create this awareness nationwide
We should all carry this campaign far and wide to all consumers of our education policies. Our youths must not be allowed to spend their time, energy and resources at distant places for something that is of no value to them at all.
A typical case in point is the woeful experience of some international graduates who were recently employed by a Federal University is one of the northern states. Some of them ended as casualties of the colleges they wastefully attended. We all owe it a duty to spread this message to our youths, children, communities, states and people. A stitch in time saves nine!
