UNICEF has cautioned Care givers in Darmanawa ward, Tarauni Local Government area of Kano state to avoid skipping Ante natal care services as well as defaulting in Routine immunization for their children.
UNICEF State Team Leader Mr Farhat Mahdi gave the advise on Saturday during mega compound meeting organized by UNICEF Supported VCM network at the local government area.
He said regular attendance of ante natal enhances the health of pregnant women .and reduces child and maternal mortality.
He noted that routine immunization for children help prevent affliction of child killer diseases
In a remark, the IM of Polio emergency operation centre, Dr Imam Wada Bello stressed the need and importance of routine immunization to the children emphasizing that it has no side effect on the children.
The UNICEF STL in Kano, Mr Farhat Mahdi subsequently distributed household essentials that include soap, and detergents to the Care givers
