Veteran journalist, Arowona bags new title, Chikasoro Tangale, in Gombe

The Mai Tangale of Tangale Chiefdom, Billiri Local Government Area of Gombe State, Mallam (Dr) Muhammadu Danladi Sanusi Maiyamba IV, is to confer a traditional title of Chikasoro Tangale on the Spokesman of the Emir of Ilorin, Mallam AbdulAzeez Arowona.

This was contained in a letter dated January 15th, 2024, and addressed to Arowona by the Secretary, Tangale Traditional Council, Dr Adamu Idris.

The letter was titled “Conferment of traditional title of Chikasoro Tangale”.

It explained that Arowona’s selection for the traditional title was in recognition of his track record of excellent performance and patriotic disposition among others toward the development of Tangale Chiefdom.

The letter added that the covetous title is exclusively reserved for the dignified son of Tangale Chiefdom.

It noted that formal turbaning would be considered in due course.

“I hereby convey the approval of His Royal Highness, Mallam (Dr) Muhammadu Danladi Sanusi Maiyamba IV, the Mai Tangale of conferment on you, the traditional title of Chikasoro Tangale.

“He conferred on you this dignified title of immense trust and confidence, which is exclusively reserved for a dignified Son of this Chiefdom in recognition of your track record of excellent performance, competence, integrity and patriotic disposition toward the development of Tangale Chiefdom.

“With this conferment, it is hoped that it will energize you into contributing more toward the development of Tangale Chiefdom”, the letter partly read.

Prior to now, Arowona, a veteran journalist, prolific writer and author, had bagged traditional title of Shettima of Okuta in Baruten Local Government Area of Kwara State.
