{VIDEO}:Police rescue man locked in solitary room for 7 years in Kano

The Nigerian Police has confirmed rescuing a 32, year-old man, Aminu Farawa solitarily confined to a car garage by his father for seven years at Farawa Babban Layi, Mariri quarters, Kumbotso local government area of Kano state.

A statement by Kano Command Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Abdullahi Haruna said the command received information on the confinement of, Aminu Farawa on Thursday night at about 11.15 pm.

According to the statement, a team of Operation Puff-Adder was raised and immediately swung into action. The victim was rescued and rushed to Murtala Muhammed Specialist Hospital Kano and admitted.

Solacebase reports that the statement added that the victim was kept without proper feeding and healthcare.

‘’The father was arrested. Preliminary investigations revealed that the father confessed to have locked-up the victim for three (3) years on allegation of suspected Drug-Abuse,’’ said the statement.

The statement, however, said the Command’s Commissioner of Police Habu A. Sani, has ordered the Case be transferred to State Criminal Investigations Department (SCID) for Discreet Investigations.
