Kano State government has converted Abdullahi Wase Specialist Hospital in Nasarawa Local government area to a teaching hospital, under the supervision of Yusuf Maitama Sule University Kano.
The Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof.Muktar Atiku Kurawa, who spoke with newsmen after he visited the project site, and assessment of Facilities on Thursday.
Prof.Muktar Atiku Kurawa said that the physical structure was almost ready while other equipment was already on ground waiting to be fitted into the completed structure.
Solacebases reports that the hospital was initially named after a former Military Administrator the state, the late Col. Abdullahi Wase.
The Vice Chancellor said that the state government had approved the conversion long before his appointment as vice-chancellor.
Recalls that on April 2020 Kano State government approved the conversion of Abdullahi Wase Specialist Hospital in Nassarawa local government area of the state to a University Teaching Hospital for Yusuf Maitama Sule University Kano.
Earlier, the Chief Medical Director (CMD) of the hospital, Dr Mustapha Hikima, said it had all the facilities and equipment required of a teaching hospital.
He solicited for the support of the vice-chancellor in fine-tuning the modalities for actualising the take-off of the teaching hospital.
