Zamfara Assembly passes resolution urging legal action against online TV
The Zamfara House of Assembly has passed a resolution, urging the state’s Attorney General, Mr. Sani Abdulaziz to institute legal action against a Gusau-based online television.
This followed the adoption of a motion by the Majority Leader, Alhaji Bello Mazawaje at Wednesday’s plenary in Gusau.
Presenting the motion, Mazawaje urged the house to take legal action against the online station for spreading fake news.

Seconding the motion, the majority whip, Alhaji Rilwanu Marafa (PDP-Anka Constituency) urged the house to take the matter seriously because its reputation was at stake.

After deliberations, the lawmakers unanimously adopted the motion, calling for legal action against the station.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that an online television station had transmitted an audio clip insinuating bribery allegations against the lawmakers.

The station alleged that former Gov. Abdulaziz Yari, bribed the lawmakers with N100 million. (NAN)
