Assailant Stabs A Female BUK Student In The Hostel

A Bayero University Kano female Student on Thursday night was attacked and stabbed on the neck by unknown assailant at a female hostel on the new campus.

The victim who was attacked at about 3.00am was about entering her room after coming back from night study from the class area when the assailant stabbed her, snatching  her phones and some other accessories which led to her shout for help.

According to some students that spoke with Solacebase, her shout for help led to some students rushing to the area to know what was happening only for them to see her in a pool of blood crying for help.

One of the student Hassana Balarabe Umar  ( Not real name) said by the time they arrived at the scene the assailant was nowhere to be found but the victim was groaning in pain, hence they had to rush her to the school clinic.

“We immediately took her to the school clinic where she was hospitalized and being attended to, “said Hassana.

Solacebase gathered that upon hearing the story, the students mobilized and were about demonstrating before the school authority was able to calm them and swung into action of addressing the situation.

Confirming the development, the University Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Shamsudeen Umar said the victim is responding to treatment as the Vice- Chancellor Prof. Muhammad Yahuza Bello has directed that adequate attention be accorded her while thorough investigation must be conducted on the incident.

Dr. Shamsudeen Umar noted that as part of measure, the perimeter fence of the female hostels will be increase with illumination to enhance security.
