Court Adjourns Emir Of Kano Suit Against Anti Graft Agency

A Kano State high court on Thursday adjourned sitting in a suit filed before it by the Emir of Kano Muhammad Sanusi II asking it to set aside a report by Kano state public complaints and anti-corruption commission.
Solacebase recalled that the Kano state public complaints and the anti-corruption commission had submitted a report to the Secretary to the State Government in which the emir is accused of questionable expenditure of over N3,432,090,797.94 naira and was asked to explain why disciplinary action should not be taken against him.
At the sitting of the court on Thursday, Counsel to the Emir, Saida Suraj SAN did not object to the motion by Kano state public complaints and anti-corruption commission Counsel, professor Sylvester shikyil SAN seeking an extension of time to file a counter affidavit to the motion on notice.
Also, Counsel to Governor Abdullahi Ganduje and the State Attorney General Nazir Faruk also seek leave of the court to file a 7 paragraph counter-affidavit.
Justice Nura sagir then adjourned to November 14 for hearing on motions and preliminary objections in the matter.
