Joint Health Sector Union (JOHESU ) said 168 Nurses, Medical Lab Scientists, Pharmacists, Medical Record Officers, Hospital Attendants and Cleaners were exposed to Covid-19 patients in Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital (AKTH).
JOHESU Chairman, AKTH Kano Dr Murtala Isa Umar stated this in a release sent to Solacebase on Wednesday.
It said 69 personnel were tested and results came out on Tuesday, 5th May, in which 7 nurses turn out positive, 5 Medical Lab Scientists also tested positive, 1 Medical Information/Record Officer similarly tested positive and same with a Cleaner.
The statement said 25 are negative and the results of 31 others are still been awaited.
It noted that this is an addition to the already 8 JOHESU members that are already in isolation centres.
