COVID-19: NASFAT distributes palliatives to Muslim women in Kano

Nasrul -lahi-l-fatih society {NASFAT} has distributed food items to Muslim women across the 44 local government areas of Kano state to ease the effect of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Presenting the palliatives, the Zonal Women Affairs Secretary – Hajia Ayisaatu Gobir – on behalf of the national women affairs secretary – Hajia Suweebah Kupolati – said the food items were donations from the coalition of three interfaith working groups between NASFAT, WOWICAN {National women wing Christian Association of Nigeria and federation of Muslim women  Association of Nigeria {FOMWAN}which show the interfaith groups can play a significant role in maintaining peace within the community and in Nigeria at large.

Solacebase reports that COVID-19 pandemic has had a very serious effect on women generally worldwide,  as it affects their businesses, especially that most women in our society are petty traders, shop attendants, teachers and some others work in industries which have equally been struck by the pandemic.

Hence the majority have been on half or quarter of their monthly salaries or wages, and some have been laid off.

Speaking at the event, The NASFAT Northwest Zone 1, Chairman – Alhaji Kaseem Toareed appreciated the donors and prayed that Allah will continue to bless them to be more useful to humanity.

One of the beneficiaries, Hajia Fatima Yakubu, a widow lauded the efforts of NASFAT and other group involved for their kind gesture and pray that Almighty Allah reward them abundantly.

Another beneficiary Hajia Kudirat Abdulkadir thanked all the organizations that donated the palliatives and prayed that Allah heals the entire world from the pandemic.

NASFAT Northwest Zone 1, with zonal headquarters in Kano, has supported 26 Muslim women with palliatives consisting of food items Rice, Grains, Vegetable oil, Noodles and condiments.
