Eid-el-Kabir: Kano removes school principal over violation of govt. directives

Kano State Government has approved the immediate removal of Mal. Sabo Muhammad Ahmad,  the current Principal of GSS Dambatta and directed the Executive Secretary, the State Senior Secondary Schools Management Board to send his replacement immediately.

Solacebase reports that the government in the directive asked him to report to the Ministry on Monday for further directives.

This was contained in a statement issued by Aliyu Yusuf, Public Relations  Officer, Kano State Ministry of Education, on Saturday.

According to the statement, the state commissioner for education, Muhammad Sanusi Kiru who gave the approval said the removal was as a result of the principal’s inability to retain the 300 students writing NECO Examinations in his school despite the Circular released to all Principals/ Directors to that effect.

The statement said he reluctantly released all the students and also traveled to his hometown possibly for Sallah’s break without informing the Ministry.

‘’This action is a portrayal of laxity, betrayal of trust reposed in him, insubordination and gross misconduct, ‘’said the statement.

Recalls that Kano State Government had directed all boarding schools to retain in school,  their students writing NECO Examinations with adequate and special feeding arrangements including purchase of 19 cows as a special gesture for  Sallah.
