Fire destroys Ilorin Emirate Union secretariat in Kano
The Kano secretariat of Ilorin Emirate Descendants Progressive Union (IEDPU) has been destroyed by fire.
SOLACEBASE reports that the incident occurred late on Monday night.
IEDPU Chairman in Kano, Alhaji Abdulwahab Abdulraheem who confirmed the development to SOLACEBASE on Tuesday, said the inferno that razed down the building on No. 30 Emir Road, SabonGari, Fagge Local Government Area, was caused by a neighbor who was cooking late in the night and slept off.

‘’The fire was said to have started when a neighbor who was cooking slept off and the kitchen later was later gutted by fire that spread to the union’s secretariat, the chairman said.’’

‘’The fire was later put off by Kano State Fire Servicemen but before then we had lost all our property in the building including electronics, documents, and furniture among others.’’
