Foundation Donates 100 Digital Braille Qur’an To Visually Impaired Persons In Sokoto, Kebbi, Zamfara

The Qatar Charity Foundation in Nigeria on Monday donated 100 Digital Brail Qur’an to visually impaired persons from Sokoto, Kebbi and Zamfara States.

The distribution was presided over by the Sokoto State Deputy Governor, Munir Daniya at Adisa Raji Special School for the Handicapped.

Mr Daniya commended the group for the gesture and assured them of government’s continued support for the welfare of the visually impaired persons in the state.

“The system will no doubt improve the standard of leaning among the visually impaired persons as well as become a source of more development in the society.

“Government will continue to partner with all stakeholders to succeed in its existing plan of improving the standard of education at all levels,” he assured.

The deputy governor also called on the beneficiaries to utilise the gesture with care to become a source of multiple reward from Allah to them and the entire Ummah.

In his address, the Executive Secretary, Qatar Charity, Dr Hamdi Abdou assured that the foundation would continue to assist Nigerians in many areas of human needs.

Mr Abdou also used the occasion to announce an award of scholarship by the foundation to one Fatima Bala to further her studies.

Miss Bala, a 20-year-old visually impaired person, who finished her Secondary Education from Adisa Raji Special School,  Sokoto was among the beneficiaries and reciter of the Qur’an at the event.

She told newsmen that she lost her sight six years ago and thanked the foundation for supporting them to become more productive to themselves and the society at large.

Also speaking, the Sokoto State Zakkat and Endowment Commission Chairman, Malam Muhammad Maidoki, commended the foundation and the government for their commitment in liftng the standard of living of the poor.

Some of the beneficiaries include; Hudu Kebbe, Imrana Sifawa, Asmau Kabir, Sani Dan’iya and Sani Gagi as well as 10 copies each to libraries in Sokoto, Kebbi and Zamfara states.
