The National Universities Commission (NUC) has ranked the Federal University Dutse (FUD) as overall best federal university in the North-West Geopolitical zone of the country.
This was contained in the NUC 2021 university ranking report released on Monday.
Solacebase reports that the ranking also showed that FUD emerged the 18th overall best federal university in Nigeria and number 1 in per capital H-index among federal universities in the North-West geopolitical zone.
According to the statement, the NUC also ranked FUD 1st in Google Scholar presence among universities in the N/W, and No. 1 in per capital i-10 index in the zone.
‘’The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Abdulkarim Sabo Mohammed who expressed happiness over the NUC2021 ranking, thanked the management, staff and students for their efforts in making FUD what it is today,’’ said the statement.

‘’He said this latest ranking is a call to duty for the staff and students to strive harder so that the young university will emerge as the best overall university , not just in the N/W, but in Nigeria in the nearest future.’’

Recalls that Scimago , a research based group in Spain, in 2020 ranked FUD as the No.1 among 23 universities in Africa, 1st in Nigeria.
