Ganduje Vs Sanusi: Ganduje Departs For Lesser Hajj, Abandoned Crisis Mediation Committee
Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje of Kano state has traveled to Sa’udi Arabia for Lesser Hajj (Umrah) for two weeks.
While away for this religious trip, his Deputy Dr. Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna, would be the Acting Governor. He (Ganduje) directs and urges the cooperation of all Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) to the Acting Governor.
This was contained in a statement issued Chief Press Secretary to the Governor Abba Anwar on Monday and sent to Solacebase.

Solacebase recalled that the Northern Elders Forum mediation team in the Abdullahi Ganduje /Muhammadu Sanusi feud commenced sitting in Kano on Sunday and making consultations with critical stakeholders to find a lasting solution to the crisis
Also a high power committee to address the frosty relationship between Governor Ganduje and Emir Sanusi with the support of the federal government led by former military leader General AbdulSalami Abubakar (RTD) were already in contact with the governor and the emir.
However multiple sources told Solacebase that governor Ganduje told the General Abdulsalami led committee that he had to embark on the Saudi Arabia planned trip, when contacted through the Nigerian Governors Forum Chairman, Dr. Kayode Fayemi so as to have an audience with him.
Similarly, the committee requested a meeting with Ganduje in Kano according to the source that the governor turns down but offered to meet the former Nigerian leader in Abuja.
The governor’s Spokesman statement said Ganduje noted that governance, is about putting heads together to work for the betterment of the society. “It is therefore pertinent for all to make sure that government keeps running smoothly, effectively and efficiently, without any hindrance, even while he was away,” he said.
