Kano State Commissioner for Local Governments and Chieftaincy Affairs, Murtala Sule Garo, on Thursday, presented the three awards of Kibiya, Garko and Ajingi local governments areas of the state that emerged first, second and third positions in the recently concluded National Agricultural Show, held in Nasarawa state, to Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.
The presentation was conducted during the State Executive Council Meeting, at Africa House, Government House, Kano, Wednesday.
A statement issued by Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Abba Anwar , on Thursday, said amongst all the 774 local governments of 36 states in the country, including the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, Kano got first, second and third positions.
‘’Garo recalls the nature and procedures of the Agric Show to the Council, that, it was organised “…to promote agricultural business among farmers, for them to learn modern agricultural practice and technologies,’’ said the statement.

‘’Other objectives of the Show, according to the Commissioner, is “…to showcase potentials of various states across the country. By way of exhibiting agricultural produce and products.”
‘’And to also, display agricultural machineries and equipment, demonstrate agricultural value chain, production, processing, packaging and marketing.
The statement said Governor Ganduje commended the local governments for their display of skills and committed determination in winning such Awards.
He promised to continue supporting agric sector with all commitment and determination.
