Alex Iwobi, a Nigerian professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Premier League club Fulham and the Nigeria national team, has deleted all his pictures and videos on his official Instagram page.
This action was taken after he came under criticism by Nigerians who accused him of causing Super Eagles’ defeat during the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations final against Ivory Coast on Sunday.
The midfielder played for 79 minutes as the Eagles failed to add to their three AFCON titles after Ivory Coast defeated Nigeria 2-1 to win the tournament.

Though William Troost-Ekong’s header in the 38th minute had put Nigeria ahead, Franck Kessie tied the score in the 62nd minute and Sebastian Haller scored the winning goal in the 81st minute.
Nigerians on social media, however, were of the opinion that Iwobi should have done better before he was substituted.
