A gas plant on Thursday exploded at the Ipaja area of Alimosho local government area of Lagos.
A statement issued by the Director-General of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), Dr Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, said the incident occurred in the early hours of Thursday, destroyed several properties.
The statement said, however, that the number of casualties is yet to be ascertained.
“We have activated an emergency response plan. Update will follow,’’ said the statement.
Recalls that about two weeks ago a similar explosion in Iju-Ishaga area of Lagos left 40 people injured buildings and cars destroyed.
