JUST IN: Court Stops Ganduje From Legalizing Creation Of New Emirates In Kano

A Kano High Court sitting at Ungogo on Friday granted an order restraining governor Abdullahi Ganduje from taking any action to legitimize the new emirates of Rano, Bichi, Gaya and Karaye.

The presiding Judge,  Justice Nasiru Saminu, in a suit filed by one Rabiu Sule Gwarzo, gave an interim injunction directing all parties in the suit to maintain status quo pending the hearing and determination of the motion on notice.

Justice Nasiru Saminu, also gave an order directing the state governor and Government Printer to stop the publication and release of the law that created the emirates.

The Plaintiff in the suit is Rabiu Sule Gwarzo and Kano State House of Assembly Speaker as 1st defendant, Kano state House of Assembly as 2nd defendant, Clerk Kano state House of Assembly as 3rd defendant, Governor of Kano state as 4th defendant, Attorney General of the State as 5th defendant while the Kano state government printer is the 6th defendant

Solacebase recalled that announcement aired on local stations and confirmation by the Commissioner for Information that appointment letters to the new emirs will be issued on  Saturday at Kofar Mata Indoor Sports Hall.

Justice Nasiru Saminu then fixed 15th May for the hearing of the motion on notice.
