JUST IN:Court Restrains Kano Anti Corruption Agency From Investigating Emir Sanusi

The Federal High Court sitting in Kano on Friday restrained Kano state Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission From Investigation Of Emir Muhammad Sanusi II.

The presiding Judge, Justice Ambrose Lewis-Allagoa granted an interim order directing parties to maintain status-quo pending hearing of the substantive suit brought before him by the Plaintiff, Emir Muhammadu Sanusi.

Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission, Chairman of the Anti Corruption Commission Muhyi Magaji, Attorney General Ibrahim Mukhtar and Governor of Kano state Abdullahi Ganduje were joined in the suit as Defendant.

Solacebase recalled that the Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission had granted an extension of time given to Emir Muhammadu Sanusi II to appear before it for the fresh allegation of N2.2 billion on land racketeering to March 9.

The Commission had before the emir’s request for extension of time to honour the invitation was given Thursday, March 5.

The commission’s Chairman, Barr. Muhuyi Magaji Rimingado had insisted that the commission is empowered to open fresh investigation on anybody found wanting while asserting that the Emir has a case to answer at a news conference on Thursday.

Counsel for the Emir Nuraini Jimoh moved for the exparte order motion which the court granted asking parties to maintain status.

The court then fixed March 18 for hearing In the matter.

The commission had extended an invitation to the emir to appear on Monday 9th of March in respect of alleged land deals.
