Kano Anti-Corruption Commission Boss Reacts To ‘Kano Is Corruption Free State’ Report
The Executive Chairman of Kano state public complaints and anti-corruption commission Barr Muhyi Magaji Rimin Gado has revealed that the report allegedly attributing the statement that ‘Kano is now a free corruption state’ was a misquoted story as it defects from the law of nature and what he actually said.
According to him, what he as the Executive Chairman of the commission had said was that the commission is gradually winning in the fight against corruption in the state adding that it is apparent that the commission had made tremendous achievements in the execution of its mandate as stipulated in the powers given to it.

“I read with dismay a report quoting me to have said that Kano state is a corruption-free state. The assertion that a state or a nation is a free corruption entity is indeed a statement that defects from the law of nature as there is no entity in this world that is corruption-free. I can remember vividly that, what I said was that, we have achieved a lot in the state in terms of our fight against corruption to an extent that corruption rate has dropped drastically over the years,” the Chairman said.
He further attributed the successes so far recorded by the commission to the support it has been enjoying from both the public and the state government which has built the public’s strong confidence in the commission stressing that the commission will continue with the good job it has been doing.
