Kano Assembly, Dawaki Community, Others Donate To COVID-19 Fund

Kano State House of Assembly has donated  N5, 000,000.00 to the state Fund Raising Committee on COVID-19, just as contributions continued from individuals and corporate organizations to assist ease the effects of the damaging virus overwhelming the international community.

A statement giving updates on the activities of the committee, which was issued by the commissioner for Information and member of the committee, Malam Muhammad Garba, on Sunday in Kano also listed other donors to include Dawaki Local Government Community which donated the sum of N1, 515, 000.00.

According to the statement, the rest are Mamuda Agro & Allied Products Nig. Ltd N500, 000.00; Super Sack Company Limited, N100, 000.00; Seed Technology Industry, N100, 000.00; Ben George Nigeria Limited, 50,000.00 and the Nigerian Bottling Company which donated 700 cartons of Ragolis water.

In the statement, Malam Garba appealed to organizations and wealthy individuals within and outside the state to donate generously towards the committee set up to seek and collect donations in cash or kind and distribute same to those in need so as to cushion the harsh effect of the measures being taken by the government against the spread of COVID-19 in Kano.

The statement said that anyone willing to donate to the committee in cash should pay/transfer to this account: Kano State COVID-19 Support, UBA, Account No: 1022751785, while donations in kind are also collected at a warehouse at number 94, Maganda Road and Kano State Government Printing Press, Emir’s Palace.
