Kano Commences Screening, Registration Of Alternative Medicine Products

Kano State Government says in its ongoing efforts to sanitize the practice of Traditional/Complementary and Alternative Medicine (TCAM) in the state, it has commenced products screening for registration so as to check fake and adulterated products that could be injurious to consumers of such products.

The Executive Secretary, Kano State Private Health Institution Management Agency( PHIMA) Dr Usman Tijjani Aliyu, the agency responsible for the registration of the products stated this on Monday at a meeting with the Progressive Modern and Traditional Barbers Association (PMTBA) Kano State Branch at the premises of the organization.

The Executive Secretary said the products screening and registration is aimed at sanitizing their activities for their product to stand the test of time and meet international best practices.

In a remark, Chairman of the Association, Malam Ibrahim Isa said the visit became necessary after they heard on the radio the messages by the agency on the need for them to be registered and opportunities that goes with it.

He added that with the visit they intend to strengthen their relationship with the agency.
