Kano Emirate: Gov. Ganduje’s First Friday Prayer With New Emir Of Kano, Bayero
Kano State Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has observed the first Friday prayer with the new Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero, few days after the dethronement of the former Emir Muhammadu Sanusi II, at Kano Central Mosque.
The Governor accompanied by the Deputy Governor, Commissioners, Advisers and other top government functionaries, arrived at the Mosque a few minutes before the royal arrival of the Emir.
A statement issued on Friday by Chief Press Secretary to Kano State Governor, Abba Anwar and forwarded to Solacebase said the Emir who came on horseback, amid jubilation-waving thousands of worshipers, joined the governor and other faithful in the Sermon and Prayer, that was led by the Chief Imam of Kano, Professor Emeritus Muhammad Sani Zahraddeen.
The statement said immediately after the prayer which followed with supplications, both the Emir and the Governor, alongside Deputy Governor exchanged pleasantries with the sign of mutual respect on all faces.
The governor was the first to come out of the mosque then followed by the Emir. Both within and outside the premises of the Mosque, thousands of worshipers were raising their cheerful hands and thumbing up to the Governor, saying “Thank you our Governor. Thank you,” in a decent and emotional manner, being within a place of worship, ‘’the statement said.
