Kano has strongest anti-corruption agency-Gov. Ganduje

Kano State Governor Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has said the state Anti-Corruption agency is the strongest in terms of fighting graft in the country.

Ganduje affirmed this on the conviction by the efforts being put in place by the Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission in promoting public accountability, probity and good governance.

A statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Abba Anwar on Tuesday said  Ganduje made this known during a programme of the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN) on Mandatory Continuing Professional Development (MCPD) Programme, themed “Good Governance and Accounting Architecture.

“In Kano, we have the strongest anti-corruption institution. As a result of the work of our Anti-Corruption agency, some Commissioners lost their job. So also some Permanent Secretaries and Director with the state civil service lost their jobs,’’ said the statement.

According to the governor, fight against corruption should also be approached not from curative perspective, it should be approached from its preventive perspective, insisting that, “With this, we can be able to achieve many feats.
