Kano State Ultra Modern Hospitals Board says the establishment of sheikh Khalifa Isiyaka Rabiu Hospital and Muhammad Buhari specialist Hospital will in no small measure reduce medical tourism in throughout Nigeria.
It said the highly equipped state of the art hospitals is geared towards improving access to qualitative health service to the people
Chairman governing board of the two hospitals Dr. Aminu Magashi Garba stated this during the week while conducting journalists were conducting round the facilities of the two hospitals.
Dr Magashi said the services being rendered by the two hospitals are comparable to any hospitals internationally noting that the services of the hospital are affordable to all class of patients.
“With the establishing laws of the hospitals, they would be maintained to compete favorably in terms of qualitative health services that can be access any where in the world.”
“We aimed to achieve this through the public private partnership and the engagement of the health managers for the hospitals in a contractual agreement of six years.’’
Also speaking the chief executive officer of Northfield Health Services managing the two hospitals Dr Shuaibu Sule Dambatta said the hospitals have equipment that are not found in most hospitals in Nigeria.
“With all these equipment and services rendered at the hospitals, we ensure that our services are not out of the reach of the masses because the philosophy of establishing the hospitals is not profit driven.’’
“For as little as N1,000 ,patients can be attended to. Also most health services that many sought in India , Egypt, Germany Saudi and United Kingdom are carried out at these hospitals.”
Similarly, the chief medical Director of Sheik Khalifa Isiyaka Rabiu pediatrics Hospital situated on Zoo road, Dr Hadiza Ashiru explained that the hospital with the capacity of over 250 beds has specialized incubators for premature babies.
The two hospitals have over 100 medical consultants and 30 out of the medical experts are expatriates.
