Kano state governor Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has pledged  to see that the state gets its fair representation in all federal government establishments and private organisations, where applicable.

“We are so conscious to see that our people get involved in government establishments at the federal level. So also in areas that have to do with security. Because we believe security comes first before any other thing. As we are determined to always have secured society,” he promised.

He made the promise when he received  280 newly recruited constables who recently passed out from Maiduguri and Kaduna Police Colleges, when they paid him a courtesy visit at Africa House, Government House, Kano.

A statement signed by Chief Press Secretary to the Governor of Kano State Abba Anwar said while appreciating the visit, which showed their sign of maturity, taking responsibility and commitment to duty, explained that, “…when I was told you were to pay a visit, I was convinced that, you deserve all appreciation because of this singular act. Which ultimately means, you are responsible citizens.”

Ganduje assured that his administration would do everything possible to see to the effective spread of Kano citizens in places that are meant for the state, so that, Kano people would continue to enjoy the fruit of being a state of a very large human resource.

“We want Kano to be to Nigeria, what China is to the world. Everywhere you go you will find a Chinese. Kano should be just like that. For this to be realistic, therefore we have to see that Kano citizens get our fair and reasonable representation in such organisations,” he hopes.

For the newly recruited constables, Ganduje promised to give each and every one of the 280, the sum of Thirty Thousand Naira (N30,000), which amounted to Eight Million Four Hundred Thousand Naira (N8.4m) only.

“I directed the Executive Secretary of the Guidance and Counselling office to quickly come to us for all the necessary paperwork and the immediate release of the money,” he directed.

While encouraging them to break any barrier against getting to certain position in the service, because of their educational background, he urged them to make sure that they stand up and break those barriers, that could crop up.
