Nigeria ranks among 10 most indebted countries in the world
The World Bank says Nigeria is in the top 10 most indebted countries in the world.
The Bank said in a statement on Wednesday that the state of debt and development was the fifth largest debt-ridden country in the world with $ 11.7bn in debt.
Solacebase reports that India leads with $ 22bn, followed by Bangladesh with $ 18.1bn.

The statement said Pakistan also has $ 16.4bn in debt and Vietnam $ 14.1bn.
‘’Other countries in the top 10 include Ethiopia at $ 11.2bn, Kenya at $ 10.2bn, Tanzania at $ 8.3bn, Ghana at $ 5.6bn, and Uganda at $ 4.4bn,’’ said the statement.
The statement added that Nigeria’s debt to the World Bank has reached $ 8.656bn as of June 30, 2021
