Ahead of local government elections in Kano scheduled for Saturday, over 2,000 Peoples Democratic Party, Kwankwasiyya members have defected to All Progressive Congress in Ungogo local government area of the state.

The defectors led by PDP Caucus Chairman, Ungogo local government, Magaji Gidan Jeji Rummawa on Wednesday said the decision to dump PDP was borne out of bad leadership and failed promises the members are facing.

Rummawa said the party has derailed from the initial ideology of the Kwankwasiyya movement and several efforts to correct the situation have failed.

‘’ We have endured a lot with what we have been going through but we just realized that it is a waste of time if we continue to stay in the party. Also, we believe and have confidence in the leadership of Engr. Abdullahi Garba Ramat in Ungogo local government, ‘’said Magaji Rummawa.
