A strong Peoples Democratic Party member and former Chief of Staff to Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso in 2011, Dr  Yunusa Adamu Dangwani has refuted the reported crisis in the ranks of Kwankwasiyya faction of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, saying it is the handiwork of the state government, under the leadership of Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.

Speaking to newsmen in Kano on Saturday, Dangwani said the rumour was being peddled by some unscrupulous elements within the opposition in order to cause distractions as they saw Kwankwasiyya becoming more formidable and success coming its way.

Solacebase recalls that a close aide of Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso, Sanusi Surajo was seen in a video that went viral recently accusing another strong member of the movement of trying to disunite the movement because of his ambition against Abba Kabir Yusuf, a governorship candidate of PDP in the 2019 poll.

Sanusi Surajo reiterated that they will no longer accept any candidate other than Abba Kabir Yusuf calling on the member to forget about his ambition or walk out of the movement.

”Let me tell you that nobody joined Kwankwasiyya before me presently. The ideology of Kwankwasiyya is peace, harmony and progress, ”said Dangwani.

” Let me assure you that we are united. No crisis between us. Nobody is fighting each other and we are doing this in order to be successful in salvaging Kano from its present woes.

“These reports are nothing but the handiwork of oppositions in order to cause unnecessary feud within Kwankwasiyya. The opposition are capitalizing on the distribution of palliative that I distributed to create the crisis,” he said.

Dangwani explained that the opposition had capitalized on the distribution of palliative for Ramadan, stressing that the gesture was to emulate Kwankwaso who used to distribute items to the needy during the holy month.

“Everybody knows that our leader every year, in a situation like this, distributes this kind of gestures to the needy. So, we always strive to emulate him in doing good things. That is why we are emulating him this year in order to get reward especially in this holy month of Ramadan, that is why some unscrupulous elements used it to create false stories in order to cause crisis within us,” he said.

“However, let me assure you that there is no crisis in Kwankwasiyya. We are united and together we are following our leader, Engineer Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso and we obey all his commands in a bid to attain success in future,” he assured.

On his rumoured gubernatorial ambition, Dangwani said it is not time to discuss that as Kwankwaso had taught them to always wait for their time and they hold on to that philosophy.

“let me remind you that it is not yet time to discuss the issue of governorship aspirations. If some people wish me success in that regard, everybody has a right to his opinion. But, what I know is that our leader always tells us that everything has time and we are steadfast in that philosophy. So, let people wait for the time,”.

On the rumour of Kwankwaso’s defection, he said that it is constantly speculated that the former governor would leave the party he is currently in.

” Oppositions and enemies are always spreading rumours about his defection in any political party he is in. It was even speculated that he even had a meeting with some party leadership but the rumour became false at the end. So, our leader is used to these rumours and we, his followers, are used to it.

“So, this is the handiwork of oppositions who are afraid of Kwankwaso’s political prowess, thinking that they could bring him down and they can not.

“We are suspecting oppositions, especially Kano state government of creating these false stories. They have done it in the past, they are doing it now and they are planning to do worse in future. So, let me tell them that we are ready for all their plans against us. We shall conquer in the end,”

He called on members of PDP in Kano state to continue to be united and avoid spreading and believing in rumours, saying “don’t believe in unverified and unfounded information.
