A House of Representatives member, representing Akure South/Akure North Federal Constituency, Mr. Adedayo Omolafe (Expensive), is dead.
Omolafe, a member of the Peoples’ Democratic Party, popularly known as “Expensive”, died around 2 am on Monday at his residence in Abuja.
PDP Publicity Secretary, Mr. Kennedy Peretei, confirmed the development to reporters.

Peretei said, “Yes it is true, he died in Abuja this morning. We will soon issue a statement on it.
The lawmaker was elected in 2019 under the platform of the PDP to represent the people of Akure north and south at the Lower chamber after several attempts by the late politician to secure the seat.
He was a former chairman of Akure South local government during the regime of the late Olusegun Agagu in 2009.
One of his close allies, who requested anonymity, said the lawmaker was not ill and was seen on Sunday with some of his constituents.
“Expensive” was not sick, we were still together yesterday (Sunday) morning, this is so sad, a terrible blow dealt on Akure,” he lamented.

Meanwhile recently Seven members of the National Working Committee (NWC) of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) have resigned.
The party’s National Organising Secretary, Colonel Austin Akobundu (retd) confirmed this on this Tuesday.
Akobundu said the former NWC members promised to remain loyal to the PDP but said they will not be able to work with the current national working committee (NWC).
