By Muhammad Muhammad. House of representatives, Majority Leader,  Alhasan Ado Doguwa, has declared that members of National assembly from Kano are fully behind the leadership of Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje and party leadership in Kano.

Apparently annoyed with the petition filed by former Kano state governor Ibrahim Shekarau, Senator Barau Jibrin and four members of the house of representative against Governor Ganduje ahead of Saturday state congress, Doguwa maintained the claims were false and unfounded.

The Majority Leader stated this while addressing APC stakeholders’ meeting at Kano government house on Thursday , insisting there is no crisis in Kano APC.

Solacebase reports that a group of aggrieved lawmakers, on Wednesday ,under the auspices of Joint stakeholders forum, led by senator representing Kano central,  Ibrahim Shekarau; Senator Barau Jibrin, Kano North, had petition the party headquarters in Abuja, accusing Gov. Ganduje and Abdullahi Abbas of running the party without carrying critical party loyalists along.

Other lawmakers that signed the petition are Hon. Tijjani Abdulkadri Jobe (D/Tofa/Rimin Gado/Tofa Fed. Const.) and Hon. Nasiru Abduwa Gabasawa (Gezawa/Gabasawa Fed. Const.)

They alleged that they had been sidelined in the affairs of the party despite investing heavily to its success in the state, seeking urgent intervention of the national leadership of the party before the State congress.

They equally rejected the previous ward and local government Congresses of the party where consensus were adopted for the party leadership.

Challenging the claims of the Shekarau led group, Doguwa wondered why the aggrieved group would accuse Ganduje of running APC alone adding that the governor had never ignored or disregard collective agreement of party stakeholders.

According to him, “any party members who allege crisis in the APC is not a true stalwart, because Governor Ganduje is not in any way interfering with the party affairs at local and ward levels”.

He urged the governor to take decisive measures against the aggrieved group, describing the governor as “too patient and tolerant.” Doguwa said Ganduje’s tolerance was the main ingredient that tempted some members of the party to test his patience.

” Your Excellency, as far as we are concerned, you don’t have any problem. Your only problem is that you are too patient and tolerant. I want you to allow us to do the fight for you,” he stated.

Doguwa also restated that  he is 100 percent with Mr Ganduje, adding that they are ready to obey whatever the governor decides.

Meanwhile, Senator representing Kano South, Senator Kabiru Ibrahim Gaya said he decided to pull out of the Shekarau led group because he could not betray the governor that supported him to become a senator.

He recalled that when he was a governor, he was obeyed and followed by other politicians.

Mr Gaya said it would be foolhardy for him to be a party to a group that writes a petition against his governor.

He called on the aggrieved group to come forward to apologize to the governor and the party.

Hitting back at Shekarau and others, Ganduje who took turn to address the stakeholders accused the aggrieved lawmakers of failing in their legislative duty.

Ganduje said, ” How can people who have failed to deliver good projects to their constituents now accused me of their travails. The money you are collecting in Abuja has not come down to your constituents, then you’re blaming me? You’re taking me as scapegoat for your problems”

Meanwhile, the APC stakeholders has agreed to return the caretaker chairman, Abdullahi Abbas and other state executive members unopposed for Saturday state congress election.

Ganduje who reeled out the names of all the party candidates declared that Kano has settled for concesus candidates for the congress after which the stakeholders conceded to the adoption through voice acceptance.
