Kano Police Command have denied the rumoured attack on the Emir, Aminu Ado Bayero as reported on Social media and a section of online newspapers.

Solacebase reports that story of the rumoured attack on the Emir of Kano was trending on social media and a section of online newspapers on Sunday.

The Command Spokesman, DSP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa told Solacebase that it was an accident that involved the last vehicle in the convoy of the Emir on Sunday at Dangi interchange recently commissioned by President Muhammadu Buhari.

‘’It is not true that there was an attack on the Emir. But rather an accident that affected the last vehicle in the convoy of the Emir, ‘’said the Command Spokesman.

‘’Incidentally, when the Emir’s convoy was coming from Zaria road heading to the palace, with the siren on, all other vehicles stopped. However, the Emir’s convoy passed through the underpass of the interchange, hence one of the vehicles earlier stopped tried to move fast-thinking there was no other vehicle behind while there was a last escort vehicle in the convoy.

”The vehicle, a Toyota Corrolla  year 2000 model then had a collision with the vehicle in the last convoy and the driver of the Toyota was rushed to the hospital due to the injuries he sustained.’’

Also, a source in the Emir’s convoy corroborated the police story to Solacebase.

Solacebase was informed that the Emir was on his way back to the palace after attending the foundation laying ceremony of Ahmadiyya Muslim Clinic on Zaria road.
