JUST IN: Saudi Arabia declares June 28th as eid-el-kabir

The Supreme Court of Saudi Arabia has declared that Wednesday (June 28) will be the first day of Eid Al-Adha (Eid-el-Kabir).

‘’The crescent moon that signals the start of Islamic month Dhul Hijjah was spotted in Saudi Arabia on Sunday night, the kingdom’s Supreme Court has announced. ‘’

According to a statement , the sighting of the cresent moon for the month of Dhul Hijjah has been confirmed at the Tamir Observatory, near Riyadh.

The last month in the Islamic Hijri calendar, therefore, begins on Monday, June 19.
