The eldest son of the Sultan of Sokoto Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar III Usman also known as Amir on Sunday had a car accident.
Eyewitnesses said Usman was driving at a very high speed when the accident occurred at noon on Sunday on Sokoto Airport Road.
One of the eyewitness Ibrahim Saleh said the Sultan son was in the car with Khalifa Maccido, son of Aliyu Macciddo, and a lady friend wh was on a visit from Kaduna for the weekend.
Solacebase gathered that Usman who was said to have been expelled from a higher institution in England over alleged drug related cases had a bottle of Benelyn Codeine syrup in the car.
He was later rushed to the Usman Danfodio Teaching Hospital, where he has been unconscious.
The Sultanate council plate number on the black Lexus CS 350 was seen being removed by the palace personnel, said an eyewitness.
