{VIDEO} Ward Congress: Aggrieved APC members attack committee in Kano

Some aggrieved All Progressives Congress members on Monday attacked the seven man Ward congress committee of the party in Kano.

Solacebase reports that  the ugly incident occurred on State Road close to Kano Government House where some members of the party stopped the committee’s bus to submit the result of the congress across the 44 local government of the state as the committee was not at the state party secretariat as directed by the national body.

The supporters of two House of Representatives member, Sha’aban Ibrahim Saharada and TIjjani Abdulkadir Jobe, Kano Municipal and Dawakin Tofa /Tofa /Rimigado federal constituencies respectively with their supporters were at the state secretariat of the party to submit the list of elected executives of 484 wards after the conduct of Saturday’s congress in the state.

The committee members were not at the secretariat but were said to be at the personal office of the state chairman of APC Abdullahi Abbas.

Addressing journalists , at the state party secretariat, Zahradeen Muktar, Chairman , Congress Committee , Kano Municipal expressed disappointment at the absence of the State Congress Committee delegated from Abuja.

‘’We have the results of the elected executives of 484 wards in the state but the party delegates from the headquarters are not here. This is contrary to the instruction of the party headquarters, ‘’Muktar said.

However, their absence at the state secretariat provoked the aggrieved members as they move to the personal office of the state Chairman, coincidentally on their way they met the members of the committee heading to the Government House.

The aggrieved members of the party were heard chanting “The party is not owned by the governor, it is for all of us, we don’t need consensus, this is the genuine result of the congress, you must collect this result of our elected executives”.

The situation was saved by  Shaaban Ibrahim Sharada  and TIjjani Abdulkadir Jobe  that calm the nevrve of the aggrieved members who about setting ablaze the bus of the seven man committee led by Dr Tony Macfoye and his Secretary Barr. Auwalu Abdullahi.

TIjjani Abdulkadir Jobe,  Dawakin Tofa /Tofa /Rimigado federal constituency is representing governor, Abdullahi Ganduje’s constituency.

Recalls that a faction of All Progressives Congress in Kano loyal to President Muhammadu Buhari (Buhari Support Organisation in the APC) had kicked against the concensus executives by some stakeholders of the party loyal to governor Abdullahi Ganduje.

A consensus executives was agreed to be adopted in a party stakeholders meeting at Kano Government House.

The governor made the announcement in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary Abba Anwar that ward, local and state congresses will take place through consensus.

However in a swift reaction, some party members loyal to APC Buhari Support Group led by Alhaji Shehu Dalhatu, a pioneer coordinator of The Buhari Organization in Kano has rejected consensus insisting that party congresses must hold in the state, they alleged that “Its a party affair, the statement should have come out from the Secretary of the party not the governor’s spokesman” said a chieftain of the party.
