‘’Focus on projects that will impact positively on people-Garo urges new Council Chairmen in Kano
Kano State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftancy Affairs, Alhaji Murtala Sule Garo has urged newly sworn-in council chairmen to focus on projects that will impact positively on the lives of the people.
Alhaji Murtala Sule Garo in his address at the swearing-in of the Council Chairmen on Friday charged them to embark on sacrifice, selfless service and dedication to complement the state government efforts in the provision of infrastructural development and improved welfare of the people.
He urged them to consolidate on the successes made by their predecessors in various sectors despite the dwindling resources occasioned by the global economic challenges increased by COVID-19 pandemic.

‘’Your predecessors gave special attention to programs that have a direct bearing on the lives of our people. The free and compulsory education of His Excellency, improvement of Healthcare delivery, agricultural programs, especially extension services, empowerment program, and other Human Capital development services are some of the areas requiring your attention,’’ Murtala Garo said.
‘’Your excellency both the outgoing and incoming elected local government officials appreciate your selfless, perseverance, dedication, foresight, dexterity and sense of duty to the Kano people and mankind in general. We use this medium to appeal to you, your excellency, for the continuation of your usual support to the local government council, towards the delivery of dividends of democracy.’’
‘’ We owe more gratitude to the outgoing Chairmen and Councillors for steering the ship of the 44 local government councils in the last 3 years. Your excellency, the outgoing local government councils deserve a salute, for they have demonstrated an uncommon sacrifice and loyalty to the party, and the government throughout their tenure. I, therefore, seize this opportunity to thank them sincerely for their service, and wish them successes in their future endeavours.’’
