Kano LG Poll: Garo urges peaceful conduct

Kano State Government has appealed to electorates to come out en mass and vote for candidates of their choice in the Saturday local government election.

The state commissioner for local government and chieftaincy affairs, Alh Murtala Sule Garo made the plea while addressing newsmen on the effort by the state government to conduct a free, fair and credible local government election.

A statement issued by the ministry public relations officer, Faruk Ghali masanawa on Thursday said Alh Murtala Sule Garo described the local government election as a way to entrench a system of government which is closer to the people.

Solacebase reports that local government elections in Kano is scheduled for Saturday, January 16th.

In the statement, he, therefore, called on eligible voters to exercise their right peacefully during the Saturday’s council poll.

‘’Alh Murtala Garo enjoined residents in the state to extend all the necessary support and cooperation to KANSIEC in effort to discharge credible election in the state,’’ said the statement.
