Kwankwasiyya foundation opens application portal for national scholarship

The Kwankwasiyya Development Foundation has open portal for a national scholarship for 148 students across the 36 states of the federation and the FCT.

Solacebase reports that the Foundation will sponsor 4 students (2 males- 2 females) from each of the 36 States of Nigeria and the FCT to the Mewer University of Nigeria, a renowned world-class International University with a branch in Nassarawa State.

This was contained in a statement issued on Thursday by Ibrahim Adam, media aide to 2019 governorship candidate of the Peoples’ Democratic Party in Kano, Abba Kabiru Yusuf.

The statement urged applicants to log on to www.miu.edu.ng to apply for the scholarship.

‘’Recently, 370 Kano students that were sponsored to India, Sudan and Dubai by Kwankwasiyya Development Foundation to study in different fields of endeavours returned with their Msc, ‘’said the statement.

According to the statement, the initiator of the foundation, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso started his educational revolution when he returned as the governor of Kano in 2011.

Then, he announced a Masters degree scholarship for 501 Kano students to many foreign countries before he later sent the next batches of 502, 503 and thousands of Kano students to study health-related courses in Egypt, Malaysia, China, Jordan, Sudan, United Kingdom, America, India and other countries across the globe. It noted that most of these sponsored students are today lecturing in most of the universities in Nigeria, particular those in the northern States, while others are the young doctors, nurses, pharmacists in most of Kano hospitals.

The statement said ‘’This is aside from his administration domestic scholarship for thousands of students to American University of Nigeria, Bells University, Crescent University, Alkalam University in Katsina and the two state-owned universities he established which are providing admission for thousands of Kano students.

‘’While out of government, Sen. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso initiated the Kwankwasiyya Development Foundation. The KDF is his initiative to empower the less privileged across Nigeria. Through the foundation, Kwankwaso supported many young people to pursue their education with continued financial assistance across the world.’’
