Lawmaker Grants Scholarship To 600 Beneficiaries In Kano

The member representing Rano/Kibiya/Bunkure Federal Constituency at the National Assembly, Hon. Kabiru Alhassan Rurum has granted 600 students scholarship amounting to over N6m as part of efforts to support educational development.

Kabiru Alhassan Rurum announced this over the weekend in Rano local government area during a Scholarship /Empowerment scheme to members of his constituent.

Kabiru Alhassan Rurum, the immediate past Speaker of Kano State House of Assembly, also distributed 150 Water Pump and Tubes, 55 Motorcycles, 90 Grinding Machines, 30 Sewing Machines and 15 mobile phones for social Media Boys.

The Lawmaker during the event reiterated his commitment to youth empowerment and consolidation of his development drive.

In a remark, Kano State Governor, Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje represented by Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Usman Alhaji lauded Kabiru Alhassan Rurum initiative of Human development so as to reduce poverty and youth restiveness.

Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje noted that the Lawmaker’s initiative is in line with President Muhammadu Buhari’s commitment to lift 100m Nigerians out of poverty in the next ten years.

The event was attended by Emir of Rano, Alhaji Tafida Ila Autan Bawo, Managing Director, Kano Road Traffic Agency, Alhaji Baffa Baba Dan’agundi, Executive Secretary, Kano State Scholarship Board, Alhaji Abubakar Zakari PA, among others.
